Invest in Art

We have partnered with the only gallery globally to manage your portfolio on an ongoing basis. All portfolio managers are Sotheby’s trained and it is in our interest to achieve the best returns possible for you as we only charge you fees on exit rather than purchase.

There are different approaches depending on budget when setting up a fund but ultimately it is advisable at all levels to have a well-balanced and diverse portfolio ideally with a mix of emerging, established and blue-chip artists’ works. Your portfolio manager will select the best pieces available and highlight each piece’s merit indicating the proposed time to hold before selling in the market to regain capital, back into the fund. In most cases it is advisable to hold a piece for a minimum of 1 year but often 2 or 3 years before selling. Once you have agreed with your portfolio manager a level of funds to invest and placed monies on account, he will set about choosing the best pieces available from our large selection of artists.

Please note below is only an outline and will be determined with your portfolio manager at the time of setting up your fund.

£100k investment portfolio

This will have a mix of artists at different values and will include limited edition prints and original works from emerging and established artists:

For example:

3x Limited edition prints or etchings total £15k

4x original works Total £85k

£250k investment portfolio

This will have a mix of artists at different values and will include limited edition prints and original works from emerging and established artists:

For example:

7x Limited edition prints or etchings total £50k

6x original works Total £200k

£500k investment portfolio

This will have a mix of artists at different values and will include limited edition prints and original works from emerging established artists and blue-chip artists:

For example:

10x Limited edition prints or etchings total £75k

8x original works Total £425k

Over £500k

We would look to add a strong blue-chip original piece to the portfolio:

For example:

An original Banksy c.£250k/£500k or

An original Richard Hambleton c.£250k/£500k

The objective is to have a mix of credible works that will sell in the future at a profit. Your portfolio manager at the right time will make a piece available for sale and depending on the piece, it will be marketed for sale accordingly, whether in one of our Galleries, internet site along with being offered to our large database of collectors worldwide. As soon as a sale is achieved, monies will be placed into the client account. This money can be re-invested into new pieces of work or held on account until an appropriate buying opportunity occurs (putting you and your portfolio manager in a strong buying position).

All pieces of work would be stored with Art Logistics, a renowned specialist in this field or some of your portfolio can be hang in your home. If you choose to have the pieces at home we will advise on curating your home to gain the best effect for you to enjoy. For each purchase you will receive a contract and full COA (certificate of authenticity). On an annual basis you will receive a valuation certificate for the pieces in your portfolio. Your portfolio manager will be on hand 24/7 contactable via mobile or email.
